Community clean ups

Image
Today we had 28 E.N.F.O.R.C.E.E.R.S and collected approximately 800kg of trash, recycling and salvaged items.  Today was the first time we were able to get back out as a group! Covid19 threw us all a curve ball since March, and last month we were meant to do the Whangarei Falls,  but the torrential rain and floods kept us away.  Some of the trash we would have collected that day would have been found here in the mangroves.  We arrived at the site with a beautiful sunny day around us and volunteers appearing slowly from the shared pathway and through the long grass. Everyone signed in and we got underway.  Manue from Northtec was collecting plastic parking tickets for study information. We also had Greer from Tai Tokerau Time banking along to provide information on another service we are teaming up with. It is to  provide a type of payment for your time helping with the clean up. That you can use around Northland. Find out nore here: https://taitokerau.timeb...

Civic Center Blessing

Image
"A karakia was held at dawn today on the site of the new civic building, cleansing the site and preparing it for a new future. An important moment for the Civic Centre Project, and despite the rain and wind, a beautiful ceremony."

Stolen picnic tables

Image
Its really disappointing to see selfish behavior like this happen. Picnic tables are in public places for everyone to use. We all need to look after our communal furniture and infrastructure. These stolen tables will need to be replaced.  This means less money that could go toward new items in places that didnt have them before.

Rose garden upgrades.

Image
Cafler park is looking pretty good so far. Metal boarders, new turf, and fresh Rose's. Great to see more new benches going in around the park for people to be able to sit and relax and watch the world go by. While we have a view of thorns right now, it will only be so long before we get to see all the bright colors.

Let me tell you something.

If you're going through a tough time right now and need a few words of encouragement... Here's a Daffodil that wants to tell you something! Psst, I think you're pretty awesome and I believe in you! Have an awesome day!

I'm off to the BLOG

Image
While I often post on Facebook, I never embraced another method and while Facebook does catch many people, There are opportunities to be able to reach out elsewhere. Why not make a Blogspot and give it a whirl. It will take a short while to catch up on all of the past posts and get them updated on here, but It will be good to have another location to be able to view info.
